Creative MP3+

I've just gone and bought a little USB soundcard so I can connect it
using SPDIF to my new amp. It's a Creative MP3+ device, that just shows
up as the screenshot. (Attached) ALSA drivers work as expected, so all
is good. :-)

The device should be labelled as a Creative MP3 Soundcard in HAL, so is
the fdi match method the right way to do it, or is there a bigger
picture for the detection of ALSA soundcards using /proc/asound/*?

The three interfaces you can see attached to this soundcard are
presumably the:
 48: [1- 0]: digital audio playback
 56: [1- 0]: digital audio capture
 32: [1- 0]: ctl
entries from asound/devices.

Note my intel8x0 doesn't have anything dramatic under HAL either. Should
HAL support soundcards, or should it just have the properties files of
the more common USB ones?

Richard.
