Hmm, this is the first I've heard of this, with respect to DDC. I  
admit I've never looked into it because I don't have to depend on DDC  
generated profiles, ever. I would be surprised if manufacturers would  
be building their hardware to report such bogus data when they could  
more easily just report sRGB primaries, a 2.2 gamma, and 6500K white  
point and get better results. Before implementing a more "custom"  
approach than this, one would think they tested it out.

Now, canned profiles on the other hand, that's not surprising.
