Advanced features is for ~10-20% of a market. Not 0.8%. We're talking about a tiny requirement, that is very important that it works correctly. I think we may just be better off with a very simple application < 1MB for the purpose of printing targets, or assigning this special feature to the GIMP.

Also, I'm not assuming every application will immediately use the CPD upon its availability. So unless the application uses the CPD, even if the "passthrough" option is found in an extended options portion of the CPD, you still don't end up with all applications with a passthrough. Since not all apps would have a passthrough in any event, I don't see why not having it in the CPD unless the developer explicitly wants it revealed is an issue.
