#558: frequent underrun + amarok hung by pulseaudio on closing

     Type: defect | Status: new
Milestone: | Component: module-alsa-*
 Keywords: |
----------------------+-----------------------------------------------------
I often have glitches while playing music or watching videos, I tried
increasing fragments numbers, enabling high priority and high scheduling,
and it still happens (seems to happen less often through). I tried to use
verbose mode, it seems that each time I ear a glitch, there is the
 following message :
 I: module-alsa-sink.c: Underrun!
N: module-alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 71,27 ms

another thing, if I let amarok pausing long enough, when I try to resume
the playing, I ear no sound at all. If I try to quit amarok, it get hung
 until I kill pulseaudio
I attach the output of pulseaudio when it happens. There's an error that
 seems to be reported :
D: module-alsa-sink.c: Wakeup from ALSA! OUTPUT
 E: alsa-util.c: snd_pcm_avail_update() returned a value that is
exceptionally large: 1157160 bytes (655 ms) Most likely this is an ALSA
driver bug. Please report this issue to the PulseAudio developers.

My soundcards are an M-Audio 2496 as input/output and a logitech webcam
with built in mic as input only of course.
