Hi,

my colleague filed a bug at <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16804> proposing some enhancements to tango icon library. The icons
could be found at <http://www.rrze.uni-erlangen.de/wir-ueber-uns/organigramm/tango-rrze/>. All icons include meta data which reference the
source icons or completely new designed ones. Derived -of course- and new icons are licensed under CCbySA 3.0.

We started our Icon-Project based on the fact icons taken from standard software are often subject to license restrictions and very expensive
if licensed for unlimited usage. Even if the presentation software which includes the icons is licensed to educational institution there are
restriction in usage concerning cooperation with partners from industry.

Another point is that the standard software icons are not very flexible in use. Mostly they are not available as vector graphics and therefore
it is not easy to create derived icons for special purposes.

By searching useful alternatives, we started to create our own icon set first. But then we figured out, that this is a lot of work, because we
would have to create our own style guides and had no basics to use.

Linux nerds amongst our team members came across Tango-Icon-Library. Here we found all we needed. Beautiful Icons as vector graphics for free
use. And - of course - we can support the community by publishing our derived icons. And this is the primarily cause for this e-mail.

Some additional comments on the icons beyond the comments included in the files:
We don´t use the freedesktop colour-guidelines, because they don't match our corporate design and there was some discussion on this list
<http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/tango-artists/2008-June/thread.html#1809> about the palette. All other guidelines - shape, size and
form - were used to create our icons.

In that way we create a roundabout 60 icons in an arguable time and effort, which are extensible - and which are exactly the kind of icons we
need. We would appreciate if they become official part of tango icon library.

We look forward to your feedback.

Greetings
Hendrik & Beate
