Visual Studio 2012

I do build with Visual Studio 2012 all the time. (I actually stopped using
Visual Studio 2010 and should update instructions.)
I don't build on Windows 8 -- only Windows 7 --, but I wouldn't expect that
to make a difference.
But I also have DXSDK headers installed, -- actually headers from
https://github.com/apitrace/dxsdk to allow me to build wrappers / retracers
for all Direct3D versions. So maybe that is making a difference.
What sort of errors do you get?
