I think that's a bad example; the gimp file is very incomplete.
Perhaps https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-software/tree/data/appdata/org.gnome.Software.appdata.xml.in
is a better example?

I think the other way round might be more productive. GNOME Builder
already has 14 translations in the stable AppStream file.
