[cairo] [Patch] Some clarification for the docs

Hi,

attached are two patches which touch the documentation of some function.

Patch 0001 should be quite clear. For the second patch, I can say that I
bisected this down to f7ab65e9b0c before asking Behdad who told me that my test
is just wrong. I also attached the test app that I used for bisecting this.

If no one mentions any objections to my lousy spelling, I'd like to push these
two to master.
