[cairo] problem

Hi

The following error message doesn't seem to be consistent:

LE223:~/software/pycairo-1.8.10% python3 --version
Python 3.1.3
LE223:~/software/pycairo-1.8.10% ./waf configure
  ./set_options()
  ./init()
  ./configure()
Checking for program gcc or cc           : /usr/local/bin/gcc

Checking for program ranlib              : /usr/bin/ranlib
Checking for gcc                         : ok
Checking for program python              : /usr/bin/python
Checking for Python version >= 3.1.0     : not found
/home/rksh/software/pycairo-1.8.10/wscript:34: error: The python
version is too old ('2.6.5')


Can anyone advise?
