If you haven't already, be sure to communicate details about these
issues to Scribus (they have a bug tracker you could post to, or just
send it to their mailing list).  Also, I understand they're releasing
1.2 so you could try it out again.  Scribus is an actively maintained
project and looks like it is the leading DTP app in Open Source, so it
is worth your while to report these issues.  Your feedback could go a
long way towards making it more like you think it should be.  :-)
