I would suggest that India and Singapore would be more expensive, and a
harder trip, than Amsterdam.

For reference (just to see): a trip from San Francisco to Singapore
would cost around $1500 in mid-July with a weekend stay-over now, a trip
from SFO to Amsterdam on the same dates is around $1300. Flight time is
roughly the same - 15 hours for SFO -> AMS, 20 hours with a stop-over
for SFO -> SIN.

Note: I chose the most unfavourable US city for Europe and the most
favourable for Asia for the comparison. If I try New York or Boston, the
answers obviously change.
