What you are proposing is very close to organising the LGM in Amsterdam. ;-)
I mean, the main event itself! The only thing that is not in your proposal
seems to be the covering of the travel costs. And for the sponsoring, we
need a coordinated effort anyway. So you would not be left alone. Quite the
opposite!
