This discussion has been very valid from start to where it is now.

LGM, like any such event, needs to consider all possibilities, and all
sides to those options, be that travel costs or state of the destination
options. We have been very lucky so far to have options that have proven
to be relatively suitable for a lot of participants.

I doubt *very* much that anyone here will be booking flights in the next
6 months, many will not be able to request leave off work until the new
year starts, looking at pricing now is valid, but only as a relative
comparison.
