the announcement of the Code of Conduct BOF is very reassuring of the
organizer's intent to address the thoughts, feelings and worries of LGM
attendees.

While we were discussing how we can help, we were told that Femke has
asked for help with the organization of the meeting, the moderation and
the chairing, and were asked if we would be willing to support her. We
are honored to have been asked, and will gladly render any assistance we
can. Femke and Michael (schumaml) will work together to make the BOF
helpful and successful.

As most of you are aware, the GIMP project has contributed to funding
LGM in the past and we intend to continue to do so.

We as sponsors feel responsible for the people who attend the LGM and
obviously are very much interested in having a conference with a
constructive and harmonious atmosphere, with a focus on collaboration
and creative exchange.

We believe that formulating a Code of Conduct will assist in reaching
and maintaining that goal, and we fully support the initiative to do that.

While not fooling ourselves into thinking that there haven't been any
actions that make a CoC necessary, we believe that an optimistic view on
the participants is still justified and the participants should simply
be encouraged to be excellent to each other. We think that a positive
wording is the best way to do that.

In our opinion, the most important aspect of the Code of Conduct is to
make the participants aware that everybody can help in making the
conference comfortable, enjoyable and rewarding for everyone.
