Query service in the activation design?

Hi!

So we have been thinking back and forth about whether we should include
design for a query service in the current design. I can't see where it
would be useful unless KDE or GNOME (or another desktop) decides to go
with D-BUS for components.

It might be better to actually design it at that point. Or does someone
have a good use case for the querying service as it would be used today?
