[PATCH] updated bus name releasing patches

I've scrutinized these, played with them and ran them through my test
case inside my still pending patch and they look good enough to commit.
The test case includes signal, return value and queue state checks.

We might want to wait until my patch goes in so they get full test
coverage but sans that they can still be applied as is without my code.
This is because most of the heavy lifting is done by the service
registry code and this is mostly a wrapper to expose the API from the
bus driver.

I will post a patch to my patch that will include the test code changes,
tomorrow.
