Problems in installing Dbus

Dear all,

I urgently require some advice on the installation of Dbus on my target ARM 
board through cross compilation on my host Linux computer. I understand , 
that Dbus require the a XML parser such as Expat installed.

My question is, do i need to cross compile Expat and install it into my 
target ARM board also before cross compiling D-bus or just need to install 
Expat on my host computer?

Secondly, what should i set the prefix when i configuring the cross 
compiling process of D bus. Should i point the prefix to the root of my 
target board RFS which is mounted on my host through NFS or at some other 
directory?

Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
