dbus-monitor

When I executed the built-in dbus-monitor, it said the following error.
(It might be located /usr/include/bin )

dbus-monitor --system
Failed to open connection to system message bus: Failed to connect to
socket /usr/local/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or
directory

To dig more, I copied the source code and compiled it by myself and
then tried again. But this time it succeeded!

I don't know what's wrong here.
I'm running D-Bus 0.61 on Fedora core 5.
