IANAL, but I've been involved in something like this before (evolution 
copyright assignment), and as I understand it, for something to be 
copyrightable, it needs to "demonstrate creativity", and so small bug 
fixes where there's really only one or two plausible ways to fix the 
problem aren't copyrightable. On my did-I-mention-that-I'm-not-a-lawyer? 
reading of the patches, that would cover:
