What kind of realtime application - in the "automation device" sense?

We are using dbus in an automation scenario, but not for realtime
traffic. The soft PLCs are exchanging process data under hard realtime
conditions and the processes are being controlled via dbus. I doubt that
it will make sense to run hrt traffic over dbus.
