Hello

Dbus 1.2.16 is failing to start at KDE boot up and I think is
causing me to be thrown back to the command prompt as a user. I
am getting the message: Failed to start message bus: Element
<servicedir> is not allowed in this context.

This is part of a strace readout:

startkde: Starting up...
Process 2631 attached (waiting for parent)
Process 2631 resumed (parent 2600 ready)
[pid 2631] execve("/usr/bin/dbus-launch", ["dbus-launch",
"--sh-syntax", "--exit-with-session"], [/* 39 vars */]) = 0
Process 2632 attached (waiting for parent)
Process 2632 resumed (parent 2631 ready)
Process 2633 attached (waiting for parent)
Process 2631 suspended
Process 2633 resumed (parent 2632 ready)
[pid 2633] execve("/usr/bin/dbus-daemon", ["/usr/bin/dbus-daemon",
"--fork", "--print-pid", "5", "--print-address", "7", "--session"], [/*
39 vars */]) = 0
Failed to start message bus: Element <servicedir> is not allowed in this
context
Process 2633 detached
[pid 2632] --- SIGCHLD (Child exited) @ 0 (0) ---
Process 2634 attached (waiting for parent)
Process 2634 resumed (parent 2632 ready)

Can someone tell me what this means, have googled but found nothing?

thanks

MAC
