If my opinion is of any relevance, I would strongly militate against
shipping binaries for windows. Which configure options? Which cmake
defines? Configure or Cmake built? All these questions would have
answers that would make the other half of the world unhappy and custom
built binaries would proliferate anyway.

It is dead easy to build dbus (even me I managed with both configure and
CMake), so anybody can really build it for herself. And if she is not
able, so what the point to build against them?

As usual my 2 cents that I will still ask to be returned to me back :)
