But you see, that is still the case with this proposal. You've already 
proposed that an unset DISPLAY means reusing the one from the user's 
XDG_RUNTIME dir.

Moreover, since there's only one bus running, even if you had a different 
DISPLAY set, such as ssh -X into the machine, or by su from another user's 
graphical login, trying to access any already-running services would result in 
them being shown in the original X display. (This is in fact an existing and 
working use-case I use today but that would be broken by this proposal)

Anyway, the point is that we're restricting everything one user does to the 
same session. What we previously considered "starting a new session" now 
changes into "joining the running session". Therefore, it still matches the 
session bus goals.
