If you like having patches applied, put some pressure on the bug
tracking system :-)

add yourself to cc if you want to be notified of further changes.

I believe I've now reviewed everything that touches existing dbus-python
source files, and applied changes that will fix most of it, so what's
left in a patch is the addition of the cmake build system.
