You are rushing to judgement based on incomplete information...
libdbus has its problems, e.g. wrt to threads. And there were 'native'
dbus bindings (ie not based on libdbus) long before gdbus came around.
Having gdbus inside glib (replacing the off-to-the-side dbus-glib
bindings) makes dbus a first-class api in gnome, and will only help to
keep interest in dbus alive.
