Is it possible to use Flatpak in applications such as VLC Media Player?

I'd be interested to understand the Flatpak developers' point of view on
this. I'd say VLC should be in one of the top 5 use cases for Flatpak to
cover, is one of the most used open source apps aside from the browsers
realm. It'd be really bad press if VLC is out and a shame if VLC falls down
the cracks just because we didn't communicate properly with the developers
on time.
