I have installed freetype 2.1.10 on my machine at the location

Then I configured fontconfig as below.

../fontconfig-2.2.96/configure --prefix=$CAM_HOME/bin/fc

Now I am compiling fontconfig. I am getting following error.

make[2]: Entering directory

/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -g -O2 -o fc-cache fc-cache.o

gcc -g -O2 -o .libs/fc-cache fc-cache.o ../src/.libs/libfontconfig.so

/usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6: undefined reference to `atexit'

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

make[2]: *** [fc-cache] Error 1

make[2]: Leaving directory

make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

make[1]: Leaving directory `/LinuxDisk/usr/home/rkamoji/TEMP/fc_linux'

make: *** [all] Error 2

Can you please tell me where could be the problem?

Thanks and Regards,

XFree86 4.5.0 is far from being the latest version; it was released in

March 2005. And you're using an ancient fontconfig and RedHat version.

But anyway, you have to install the freetype-devel package:
