Dear fribidi, I debated which list to address this question to. I picked this one because I think it's the most likely to know the answer and not flame me. :) Why are final forms (final mem, final nun, final tsadik, etc) in Hebrew script treated as separate characters, instead of presentation glyphs as in Arabic?
