GStreamer | gst-plugins-base | Ver: HEAD CVS
Summary: [volume element] "volume" property range insufficient
Product: GStreamer
Version: HEAD CVS
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: Normal
Component: gst-plugins-base
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: artfwo at gmail.com
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
GNOME version: 2.11/2.12
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
Please describe the problem:
The "volume" property in the volume element has the maximum value of 4.
This could be insufficient in certain cases, i. e. when an audio file is very
quiet, the media player will try to raise the volume using replaygain
information. Together with pre-amplification, the requested value may exceed 4
or even 5.
I suggest raising the "volume" property maximum value to 10.
