I have now done more tests:

This does not work:
DVDFASTSTART=yes; gst-launch playbin2 uri=dvd://

This works fine:
DVDFASTSTART=no; gst-launch playbin2 uri=dvd://

Your script: whehter I use line 13 or not makes no differnce. The DVDFASTSTART
is tne show blocker.
