that header is not included by anyone other than filesrc and is not
installed. it is the same thing as just including "foo.txt" if docbook
only looked at files names "foo.txt". so essentially, the reason is
docbook. now, wrt convenience, maybe we could put all .h and .c's in the
same tarball if they have the same name :-)))

i'll look into the typedef thing. i'm just saying there's nothing to get
all excited about here, imo.
