I forgot to finish that thought. ;)

How portable is inttypes.h?  It's ISO C99 or something but is it
portable enough for our use?  Too bad glib doesn't just require all
inttypes.h stuff be available rather than reimplement only parts of its
funcationality.  Oh well.
