Some of them should be defined in a standard. however some of them can

I'm not sure how that is going to work yet...
This is probably also related to the way metadata is going to be handled
using the properties
too, instead of the compile time struct that is used now.

nope

It might be maintained in the typefactory, when you define type
audio/raw, you also specify
the properties it can have with the default values. not sure about that.
