Hi team,
We have decided that it is the time for a new release has arrived to get
the latest and greatest fixes out to the starving children of the world.

Planned time of release is the weekend 2-3 November, which gives us
approx 10 days to get fixes in.

Some selling points for this release is planned to the working mpeg
muxer, working avimuxer, new asf demuxer, wavencoder, shoutcast2 plugin,
license field, built and shipped snapshot and rtp plugin. I also think
we should package the flash plugin for this release.

Maybe the new video editing plugins that Wim has made should be included
in the build for this release too?

Anyway as usual we should try and slim down the number of bugs in
bugzilla. And also as usual we need as many as possible to help out with
this. I will here give a short overview of the major bugs in bugzilla.
There are others which would also be very cool to fix, but I think these
are the ones either being 'critical' or being simple to fix.

0.4.2 bugs that we should try hard to fix:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87882 <- state change in
top-level thread not passed down to child bin

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89836 <-
gst_element_(s|g)et_name are redundant (fix need to be agreed upon?)

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93100 <- Pipeline problem with
video

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93558 <- mpeg2dec borkage

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93612 <- Some memory leak
still? Wim I am a bit unsure what the final status of this was

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93735 <- cdparanioa, could be
fixed already??

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96329 <- cdparanoia
regressions?

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93821 <- svcd, could be fixed
already?

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96712 <- Gst-player fails to
seek in large videofiles

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93479 <- broken alsasink,
getting good alsa support is important IMHO

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93485 <- borked volume plugin?

Build Issues::
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89622 <-
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87823 <- Both of these fixed
by thomas new macro?
