Hmm, in Marlin, a marker is (currently) simply a position in a sample
that has a name associated with it and doesn't really mean anything.
When ripping a CD as one long sample (for example), a marker is added at
each track break.
In other editors it is possible to save one sample as many files split
on the markers, or to burn the sample to a CD, using markers as the
track breaks. In Marlin, it might be nice (in the future) to use the
markers to make these multitrack ogg files, or to load them from
multitrack oggs. Currently the only file format that has support for
markers is wav, and they are simply used to signify a special point in a
sample, for example, a label point, or a loop point
But yeah, it'd be nice to use markers as special things like this.
