It's my understanding that the newest alsa plugins (in cvs head) are using
0.9.0rc7---at least, that's what I've been working with. It does seem silly
that alsa apparently has api changes between release candidates, but
there's a lot about alsa that's pretty cryptic to me. :)

Also, I implemented an alsasrc element, but it's not working yet on my
machine (it compiles and runs, but has a 100 % cpu issue for my hardware).
If you all get a chance to test the alsasrc with a decent sound card, I'd
appreciate hearing if you get the same 100 % cpu issue. I've been using
'gst-launch alsasrc ! fakesink' as a test pipeline.
