You are not getting my point here.. Both interfaces are quite similar
the only difference is that your interface has a single function and
mine has 2 signals more and tries to work for other stuff than X.

If i manage to get something usable for a video player, which wasn't
possible with XOverlay, I will then work again with you to try modify
XOverlay and get something usable.

Not a single minute on what you ve done on gst-rec, sample apps,
xvideosink, sdlvideosink, v4l/v4l2, xwindowlistener is lost. But as far
as i m not 100% sure of the needed API i won't go break XOverlay and all
the rest. That s why i m using another interface while working on
offline plugins...

What are my possibilities today :
1) modify Xoverlay and maybe break some stuff to make my tries.
2) Use Xoverlay as it is now and not being able to fix gst-player
without doing very ugly hacks.
3) have another interface, get something usable and then talk again
(kind of branching if you prefer)

I choose 3).

I hope i m clear this time.. :)
