No, I'm using 2.4.25 vanilla, it's a Pentium III 500 Mhz with 256 MB
RAM, an ISA Sound Blaster 16 audio card, and a nvidia TNT2 graphic card.
The Mandrake box is a Celeron 800 Mhz with 128 MB RAM and a onboard
sound card (don't remember the kernel version, but it's Mandrake's default.)
At first, I thought that the jitter problem were caused by the fact that
the filesrc and the mad plugins were on the same thread, so I run the
threaded example, but with the same problem. In fact, if I execute this
on a terminal:
$ gst-launch filesrc location=/path/to/file.mp3 ! mad ! osssink
I have the same problems. Running "top" while executing gstreamer it
takes a 7% of the CPU, I tried two different tests, one on high CPU load
and other with high I/O load with DMA enabled (ls -lR, no more
complicated than that...) and with both tests, the mp3
jittered...strange huh? :-/
Maybe I should check the newest version, do you know if there's a .deb
package that I could use?
Best regards,
