[gst-devel] release branch

Since people put in some commits that broke stuff or were contended I
decided to branch a release branch off anyway.

This branch doesn't include Andy's last commit because David disagrees
(let's work it out) and doesn't include Thaytan's commits because Jon
said they broke the build.

I'm doing some final distchecking and will release tomorrow what I
have.  It's been tested with a bunch of apps and to the best of my
knowledge works as well as can be expected with the current CVS :)
