The debian package is:

kernel-image-2.4-k7 - Linux kernel image for version 2.4 on AMD K7.

This package will always depend on the latest 2.4 kernel image available
for AMD Duron/Athlon.

Yes, the checkout completed successfully (and I retried it just to be 
certain) and the tags match (although they have different formats):

$cat Tag
2003-10-26 10:00 GMT
$cat ffmpeg/Tag
D2003.10.26.10.00.00

I also tried checking the ffmpeg HEAD sources out and compiling them, 
and got the same error.
