There was one bug, for certain colorspaces, and only for
nearest-neighbor. I think you're overstating the degree of brokenness ;)

Quite.

One thing you did not mention is that it does have bilinear scaling,
which looks *significantly* better, at a relatively small speed cost.

(I still think that it needs either optimization or being reverted,
because of the speed issue.)
