Do you mean "when I cd to /" ? Why would you do that ?

Do you have any environment variables set that affect GStreamer ?

How did you manage to have plugins end up in such an insane
path ? /usr/gst-plugin ? What distro are you using ?

Did you compile any of these yourself ? Could you explain from the start
how you installed GStreamer ?
