I never enjoy saying this, but the freeze is meant for freezing so we
can release, not for trying to cram patches in at the last minute.  I
know this is annoying - but the right time to push for patches going in
is before freeze announcement.

I do hope someone looks at those patches soon because they look useful
for what you're doing - but you need to get someone to look at them
outside of the freeze/release period.
