Thanks for your answer; However, it doesn t solve my problem :-(. The application i m developped is aimed for an embedded device and we won t have the directfb library embedded. I m looking for a library that has a direct access to the frame buffer wihtout the directfb interface

All I had to do was edit the /boot/grub/grub.conf and add vga=785 in order to install /dev/fb0. And then in the code I created a directfb surface which I provided to the dfbvideosink, and voila! there is video on directfb using gstreamer.
