[gst-devel] memory issue in video pipeline

Hi All!
I am playing back video on N770 using the following pipeline.

filesrc --> queue --> avidemux audio_pad --> queue --> mad --> audioconvert
--> dsppcmsink sync=false video_pad --> queue --> dspmpeg4sink sync=false
arm-timestamps=true videoonly=true fullscreen=TRUE

The video plays back fine, but after a while the program gets killed.
Running top, I observed that after setting the pipeline state to PLAYING,
memory utilisation by the program gradually increases (from 16% to 39%)
before the system cannot handle the playback anymore and just gets killed.

I observed the same memory hogging issue while running the pipeline using
gst-launch.

The video file I am using is an AVI file of around 1 hour duration.
[RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 288 x 208, ~30 fps, video: DivX 4, audio:
MPEG-1 Layer 3 (stereo, 48000 Hz)]

Any idea on what the possible cause(s) could be - something that I may be
missing out on OR some known issue in freeing memory ?

Stefan:
thanks for the pointer on display blanking in N770.
The display now stays ON for long duration videos without going into power
save mode.

Regards,
Vinod
