Tim asked me to explain how we manage our translations.

I updated gstreamer/docs/random/i18n. Here's the update:

- our translations are managed by the Translation Project
  http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/translation/
They are updated by the release manager for prereleases using
  make download-po
As the translator project website clearly states, only accept
translations
from the translation project, and direct would-be translators there:
"It would defeat the purpose of the teams if you were directly
accepting PO
files from individual translators, or were having "contracts" with
them. If
people write to you, wanting to volunteer as translators, direct them
to
translation at iro.umontreal.ca, and the translation coordinator will
send them
   appropriate documentation."

I just did an update in CVS and people are confused why in some cases
this actually updates with an older version. The reason is that a
translation was commited to CVS that did not come through the
Translation Project. Translators should submit their translations
through the translation project so this step can be automated.
Translators not doing so risk getting their translation overwritten.

If people are interested in changing the way we manage them that is fine
- suggest and work out a good alternative. The main reason for not
being managed by GNOME completely IIRC is that .po files need to live in
the GNOME repository.
