[gst-devel] A Gstreamer plugin to capture and encode data from video camera or microphone

Reading about Gstreamer it seems lots of plugins have been written to
stream video/audio data in various formats.

 

Can Gstreamer be used to capture data from peripherals like microphone
and video camera.

 

If so is there any Gstreamer plugin available to capture audio/video or
both data?

 

Any information in this regard will be highly helpful.
