[gst-devel] Appsink questions

1. Can anyone point me at a non-out-of-date example for using the appsink
element please ? 
2. If not, what events/signals do I need to use to be able to access the
raw-frame data for my movie ?
3. Should I just set the pipeline to play, or do I need to step one frame at
a time (I anticipate that processing of the raw frame data will be slow
enough that my application will not be able to keep up with the full frame
rate) ?
