Time-of-flight camera support via OpenNI?

Hi Gstreamer folks,
Dani (in cc:) and I were thinking about adding support for time-of-flight
cameras for GStreamer, via OpenNI (https://github.com/OpenNI/OpenNI2),
including but not limited to the famous Kinect. OpenNI is open (heh) and
supported in Linux, win, mac, and would be a source spitting RGBA or
similar. So the question we have is: is there already somebody busy with it
or are there any plans...? and: how does it sound to you guys, any
suggestions...?? :D
