Could you tell me about blocking pads funtionality in playsink>

I have reviewed the playsink source.
Video, audio and text chain are configured after audio, video and text ghost
pad are blocked.
I am wondering that this mechanism means that below things?

1. To  send async_done message?
2. To work fine with stream-synchronizer?

Please let me know if you guys know about this.
